JACK BUTCHER: THE BTS MARKETING CHEAT CODE

How Jack Butcher made millions of dollars and created one of the biggest projects on the planet through BTS marketing...

Morning!

This is my first newsletter written from my new apartment in Portugal. The weather is great, the view even better, but I tell you what (and I never thought I'd say this) I miss hearing the good ole northern English accents.

Very few people speak English here and my Portuguese sucks - which definitely isn't a good combo.

Anyway, less about me, this newsletter is a banger for anyone who is building anything right now.

Enjoy!

Breaking Down The Strategy

I recently stumbled across a fantastic newsletter called Growth In Reverse by Chenell Basilio. It's a newsletter that reverse-engineers how creators began building their audiences.

As a newsletter writer myself, you can obviously imagine that it was right up my street.

But ever since I began reading it I've been obsessing over how certain creators and businesses got to where they are today.

Everyone talks about these people with hundreds of thousands of followers and millions of £££'s in revenue.

But how did they kick-start things? How did they get to 1000 followers? How did they get to £100,000 in revenue?

These are the things seemingly no one talks about.

So I did some digging and went down some REAL rabbit holes. One such rabbit hole led to a man you've probably heard of... he goes by the name of Jack Butcher.

He's most well-known for his brand Visualize Value (see below), which I honestly thought was just a cool Twitter page.

However, after about 2 hours down the Jack Butcher rabbit hole, I came to find out that Jack was making tens of millions of dollars each year.

Yes, that is TENS of millions of dollars per year.

That's more than about 98% of UK businesses.

And if you don't believe me, here's a screenshot from his latest NFT project that shows that 7,515 ETH has passed through the project.

That's $12,637,975.50.

When I saw this, I was well and truly gobsmacked.

How in the world has some random bloke on Twitter who was half decent at graphic design made so much money?

Well, it turns out he's a very VERY good marketer and a specialist at one form of marketing that I like to call "BTS marketing",

Just incase you don't know, BTS means "Behind The Scenes". So BTS marketing is marketing your business by showing people the behind the scenes of what you do.

It sounds simple at first, but when done right, it can be a rocket ship filled with dollars.

And here's exactly how Jack used BTS Marketing to help him make millions of $$$'s and build one of the biggest NFT projects on the planet:

1) An audience-first approach (from the start)

When most people begin building something they're only focused on themselves, the project, and how to make it a success.

Jack starts the project with the complete opposite approach. Instead, of hiding things away until he has it all cleared up. He lets his audience in on it right from the off with this tweet:

Now, this might seem like nothing at first but letting them in on the project before he'd even built it himself was vital if this strategy was going to work.

And as you can see with the engagement, his audience thanked him for it:

2) Showing up daily

Now it's all well and good acting like you're going to show the BTS of growing your business or launching a project, but if you don't show up daily - none of it matters.

Jack does this in spectacular fashion.

Every single day he shows up on his Twitter and documents every single thing that's going on with the project.

His improvements.His thoughts.His ideas.

It's all there, just take a look:

3) Full transparency

Most people who try BTS marketing only go half the way. They show the wins and skip over the losses. Jack goes all in on this part. The mistakes, the mishaps, the issues. He makes sure to document everything online. Sounds crazy, but if you want to really make BTS work for you, this is the way to do it.

4) Inclusion scales

The whole idea of BTS marketing is to include your audience in the company and the project.

Jack takes this to a crazy level and literally throws out questions he can't solve to his audience.

Not only does this add to the trust and transparency, but it makes this project their (his audience's) project, just as much as it is his.

And I mean, just look at how they react:

Hundreds of thousands of tweets all promoting Jack's check project.

A campaign of this size would cost millions of dollars for any big company. Yet, Jack created a huge social buzz of one simple concept: Showing his audience the behind-the-scenes of the project. No ad spend. No huge campaign launch. No huge push on his socials.

Just simple BTS marketing.

And he's not the only one to do this successfully, some other great examples are:

  • UFC Embedded - They rake in millions of views and build hype for fighters better than ever with their fight week BTS series. It's played a major part in their recent growth.

  • Keeping Up With The Kardashians - Slightly different but the BTS of the show has helped propel them all to huge business success.

  • Welcome To Wrexham - Was a BTS show on Wrexham's football team. It rocketed the club in all areas, read my full breakdown on it here.

They all use BTS marketing and they were all successful for the same reason Jack was.

Because when you're open, honest, and involve your audience in your story.

They trust you. They love you. And they buy from you.

So whether you're a creator, business owner or project creator.

Try some BTS marketing out. - Vlog the behind-the-scenes.- Talk about the highs and lows online.- Document the journey. - And involve your audience in it.

My bet is that it will be hugely beneficial.

Right, that's all for today!

But before you go, if you have Twitter would you mind throwing me a follow over there. I'm about to start tweeting a lot more marketing stuff over there! (Link to my profile)

Now go enjoy the rest of your day.
